William H. Macy plays a successful film critic who during a fight with one of his many ladies, accidentally murders her. Meanwhile, the chief investigating officer for the police force (played by Adam Arkin) is an aspiring script writer whose wife gets involved with the critic. Suspicious of his home life, the critics steady (Felicity Huffman) develops a scheme of her own. With twists at every turn, this made for cable noir is a throwback to the great detective pictures of the 40s. Macy co-authored the script with director Steven Schachter, based on a Donald E.
